Welcome to Wamsley Elementary

Thank you for another great week here at Wamsley!

Here is a look at a day in the life of a Wamsley Wildcat this week: Wildcat Learners.

We have several fun outdoor field trips for all grade levels during the month of May.  Unfortunately, we will not be able to allow parents to join a field trip without prior approval.  Here is a link to the letter we sent home:  Parent Field Trip Letter.  Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

We have had some parents ask about their children continuing to wear masks at school.  Here is the official communication from Garfield Re-2:  “The Governor’s order of April 3, 2021, extends the statewide mask order through May 3, 2021 or longer, in counties where the COVID-19 incidence rate is greater than 35 per 100,000 (formerly color blue on the COVID Dial). The Governor’s order also says that in schools, it doesn’t matter what the incident rate is in a county, masks will continue to be worn. Garfield Re-2 will continue our work, through the end of the school year, as we have with mask-wearing for all grade levels.”

PTAC has additional t-shirts for sale in youth sizes only.  Here is a link to the flyer:  PTAC T-shirts

Kindergarten registration is now open for the 2021-22 school year!  If you, or someone you know, has a child turning 5 years old on or before October 1, 2021, please register for kindergarten here:  How to Enroll.  If your children are currently in a Wamsley Preschool class, they will be automatically enrolled and you do not need to register.  If you have any questions, please contact our registration secretary at 970-665-7988.

The Garfield County 4-H has partnered with the Colorado Division of Wildlife to present a fun opportunity for a free kid’s fishing clinic on June 5th.  Here is a link to the flyer with registration information:  Kid's Free Fishing Clinic

REMINDERS:

1.  We need your help to keep our school open!  If anyone in your household is sick, or being tested for COVID, you must keep your children home and inform the school.  If you’re not sure whether you should send your children to school, please keep them home and give us a call.  We will be more than happy to talk with you and help you determine if your child can be at school.  Please feel free to contact us at 970-665-7950.

2.  All supplies sent home must be returned the next day.  We use them in class!  Also, please keep your chargers at home and be sure to charge your chromebooks and iPads every night.

3.  If you deliver a lunch to the school it must be in a sealed container labeled with your child’s name and teacher, and delivered before 11am (regardless of what time your child eats lunch).

Have a great week!

As always, be sure to check your email for important information and reminders!
